To solve the equation, we have to isolate g on one of the sides. By adding 3.5 to both sides, we are using the Addition Property of Equality to isolate g.
g-3.5=10
g-3.5+ 3.5=10+ 3.5
g=13.5
We found that g=13.5 is the solution to the equation. To check that we have the correct solution, we can substitute g=13.5 into the original equation and simplify.
g-3.5=10
13.5-3.5? =10
10=10 âś“
Since the left-hand side and right-hand side are equal, g=13.5 is the correct solution.
