Equation

An equation is a mathematical relation between two equal quantities. For example, 2=2 2=2 is an equation because the quantity on the left-hand side is equal to the quantity on the right-hand side. Sometimes, equations contain variables. x+3=5 x+3=5 In this case, the expression x+3x+3 is equal to 5.5. Solving this equation would produce the value of the variable that makes the equation true.
