Practice makes perfect

Let's follow the three steps.

Step 1

We begin by drawing △ ABC, ∠ D, and O, the center of rotation.


Step 2

Next we are going to draw OA and copy ∠ D as shown. To draw OA we connect A and O with a segment. We also need to measure the angle at D. For this purpose we can use a compass. By first measuring the angle at D and then, keeping the same settings on our compass, we can measure the same angle at O.

Using the protractor we can also measure the distance of OA and thereby measure an equal distance OA'. Let's do that.

Step 3

If we repeat these steps to find B' and C' we can draw △ A'B'C'.
