Exercise 29 Page 279

What makes a sequence an arithmetic sequence?

Not an arithmetic sequence.

Practice makes perfect

When a sequence is arithmetic, the difference between two consecutive terms is constant. By examining our sequence, we can see that this is not the case. -3 +( - 4) ⟶ -7 +( - 3) ⟶ -10 +( - 4) ⟶ -14 ⟶ ... Therefore, the sequence is not arithmetic.
