Exercise 23 Page 279

What makes a sequence an arithmetic sequence?

Type of Sequence Arithmetic sequence.
Common Difference: 1.3

Practice makes perfect
When a sequence is arithmetic, the difference between two consecutive terms is constant. By examining our sequence we can see that this is the case.

0.2 + 1.3 ⟶ 1.5 + 1.3 ⟶ 2.8 + 1.3 ⟶ 4.1 + 1.3 ⟶ ... Therefore, the sequence is an arithmetic sequence with common difference 1.3.
