Exercise 4 Page 278

What makes a sequence an arithmetic sequence?

Type of Sequence: Arithmetic sequence.
Common Difference: 9

Practice makes perfect
When a sequence is arithmetic, the difference between two consecutive terms is constant. By examining our sequence we can see that this is the case.

11 + 9 ⟶ 20 + 9 ⟶ 29 + 9 ⟶ 38 + 9 ⟶ ... Therefore, the sequence is an arithmetic sequence with common difference 9.
