Equations in standard form are written in a specific format. Ax+ By= CIn this form, A, B, and C are integers and A and B cannot both be zero. We will use the Properties of Equality to rewrite the given equation in this form. To get rid of the fraction, we need to multiply both sides by its denominator.

y+2=2/3(x+4)

Distribute 2/3

y+2=2/3x+8/3

LHS-8/3=RHS-8/3

y+2-8/3=2/3x

LHS-y=RHS-y

2-8/3=2/3x-y

LHS * 3=RHS* 3

6-8=2x-3y

Subtract term

-2=2x-3y

Rearrange equation

2x-3y=-2

a+(- b)=a-b

2x+(-3)y=-2

Now we can see that our equation follows the standard form. Ax+ B y&= C 2x+ (-3)y&= -2
