Let's start by drawing rectangle ABCD with the given measurements, base b= 7inches and height h= 4inches.

The perimeter of a polygon is found by adding all of the side lengths. For rectangles, we can shorten this formula a little bit because opposite sides have the same measures. P=2 b+2 h By substituting the given base and height of the rectangle into this formula, we can calculate the perimeter.
P=2b+2h
P=2( 7in)+2( 4in)
P=14in+8in
P=22in
The perimeter of the rectangle is 22inches.
