Exercise 28 Page 65

To find the area, use the formula A=π r^2.

54.1 m^2

Practice makes perfect
To find the area of a circle, we need the radius of the circle. We know that this circle has a diameter of 8.3m By dividing the diameter by 2, we can find the radius of the circle. r=d/2 ⇒ r&=8.3/2 r&= 4.15 m Now, we are able to find its area.
A=π r^2
A=π ( 4.15)^2
A=π(17.2225)
A=54.10607948
A≈ 54.1
The area is approximately 54.1 m^2.
