Perimeter

Perimeter measures the distance around the outside of a two-dimensional figure. To determine perimeter, add the length of all the sides of the figure. For example, a square with side length s=4s=4 m has a perimeter of 1616 meters because 4+4+4+4=16.4+ 4+ 4+ 4 = 16.

If the figure is a circle or an ellipse the perimeter is called circumference.
