To calculate time, we should start with the Distance Formula. Distance=Rate*Time ⇒ d=r* tWe can isolate the time by dividing both sides of the equation by r.

d=r* t
d/r=t
t=d/r

We know that the average speed of Usain Bolt is about 10.35 meters per second and we want to calculate how long would it take him to run 400 meters. This is enough information to calculate the time.

t=d/r
t=400/10.35
t=38.647342...
t≈38.65sec

It would take him about 38.65 seconds to run 400 meters.
