What is the relationship between perpendicular lines?

-3

Practice makes perfect
When two non-vertical lines are perpendicular, their slopes will be negative reciprocals of one another. In the slope-intercept form, m is the slope and (0, b) is the y-intercept. y=mx+ b To help us identify the slope of the given line, let's first convert it into the slope-intercept form.
1/3x-y=2
1/3x=2+y
1/3x-2=y
y=1/3x-2
We can see that the slope is 13. From here we can identify that any line perpendicular to the given equation will have a slope of -3.
