One thing that ratios and proportions have in common is that both are written using fractions.
Ratio Proportion
a/b p/q=r/s

A ratio compares two quantities by dividing them, while a proportion is used to equate two ratios. To solve a problem, ratios allows us to compare quantities, which can then be equated using proportions. Then we can use cross products to solve the proportion.
