Practice makes perfect
A recipe Ella is using says she needs to use 2 eggs per 12 muffins, and we want to find the number of eggs she needs to make 108 muffins. Let's create a proportion using the fact that the ratio of eggs to muffins needs to be constant. Let x be the number of eggs. The number of eggs/The number of muffins=2/12=x/108 We will solve the above proportion using the Cross Products Property.
2/12=x/108
2*108= 12* x
216=12x
18=x
x=12
Ella needs 12 eggs to make 108 muffins.
