Consider the given box-and-whisker plot. We will describe how the graph is misleading and how someone might misinterpret it.

A box plot with a minimum value of -20, a maximum value of 80, a first quartile of -10, a third quartile of 40, and a median of 0 is displayed on a number line with five increments in the negative direction and 20 increments in the positive direction.

Note that the scale has increments that are not equal. Therefore, someone might believe that the temperature has a symmetric distribution. Please note that we are only showing one of the many possible interpretations.
