What makes a sequence arithmetic?

Practice makes perfect

When a sequence is arithmetic, the difference between any two consecutive terms is constant. By examining our sequence, we can see that this is not the case. 5 + 4 ⟶ 9 + 5 ⟶ 14 + 6 ⟶ 20 ⟶ ... Therefore, the sequence is not arithmetic.
