Exercise 27 Page 204

What makes a sequence arithmetic?

Is the Sequence Arithmetic? Yes
Common Difference: 13

Practice makes perfect

When a sequence is arithmetic, the difference between any two consecutive terms is constant. By examining our sequence, we can see that this is the case. 13 + 13 ⟶ 26 + 13 ⟶ 39 + 13 ⟶ 52 + 13 ⟶ ... Therefore, the sequence is arithmetic and the common difference is 13.
