To use the Side-Side-Side Congruence Theorem, we have to copy the sides of the triangle.

Practice makes perfect

To copy the triangle using the Side-Side-Side Congruence Theorem, we have to copy the length of each side. Let's start by replicating the base of the triangle, QS. To do that we will draw a straight line directly underneath â–ł QRS. Make sure it is longer than QS.

Next, we have to copy the length of QS using a compass. Having measured the length of QS, we will use the same setting to measure that exact distance on our segment. We can erase whatever is leftover.

Now we want to copy another side. We will do QR. We will reset the compass length to match QR and then draw an arc with center T.

To copy the third side, we will repeat this procedure but set the compass length to SR and use U as our center.

Where the arcs intersect is where the third vertex V of our copy should be placed.
