Less Paint: Perpendicular lines

Practice makes perfect
Currently, the line segments that form the path do not create right angles with the crosswalk. In fact, they form obtuse angles and acute angles.

If we were to paint the path so that it's perpendicular to the crosswalk it would look like the following diagram.

The shortest distance between two parallel segments is always the line that connects them perpendicularly. Therefore, and assuming that we paint the same number of lines, it will require less paint if the lines are perpendicular to the crosswalk.
