Since the three points are on a straight line, we can use the Segment Addition Postulate to form an equation. CP=CA + AP We can now use the known lengths to solve the equation for AP.

CP=CA+AP

CP= 680, CA= 231

680= 231+AP

LHS-231=RHS-231

Rearrange equation

AP=449

The distance from Albuquerque to Provo is approximately 449 mi.
