To solve an equation, we should first gather all of the variable terms on one side of the equation and all of the constant terms on the other side using the Properties of Equality. In this case, we start by adding 3b to both sides of the equation.

2b-10=-3b+5

LHS+3b=RHS+3b

2b-10+3b=-3b+5+3b

Add terms

5b-10=5

LHS+10=RHS+10

5b-10+10=5+10

Add terms

5b=15

.LHS /5.=.RHS /5.

5b/5=15/5

a/b=.a /5./.b /5.

b=3

The solution to the equation is b=3.
