4. Volumes of Prisms and Cylinders

Recall that the volume of a prism equals the area of the base times the height. Pick a base such that you can find its area easily.
Example prism:
We want the volume to be 50 cubic centimeters. One way to achieve this is to consider a prism with height 2 cm and base area 25 cm^2. One base that satisfies this is a square of side length 5 cm.
Keep in mind that there are many other prisms with a volume of 50 cm^3 and so, your answer may vary. Below, we show another prism that has the same volume.
