Before we evaluate the expression, let's first rewrite it so that all of the numbers are fractions.

Write as a fraction

3/1 ÷ 4 12

a bc=a* c+b/c

3/1 ÷ 4 * 2+1/2

Multiply

3/1 ÷ 8+1/2

Add terms

3/1 ÷ 9/2

Now, dividing fractions is the same as multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. 3/1 ÷ 9/2 = 3/1 * 2/9 When multiplying fractions, remember that the product of two fractions is equal to the product of the numerators over the product of the denominators.
