Practice makes perfect
a Provided that the house has been built correctly, the floor should be parallel to the ground. Note that we disregard the ever so slight curvature of the earth beneath the treehouse.
b Let's make a simple illustration of the lines in the ground and the railing

Skew lines are defined as two lines that are not coplanar, not intersecting, and not parallel. We can safely say that the lines containing the railings, are neither coplanar nor parallel. However, if we extend the lines that follow the railings, they will intersect the plane of the ground at some point.

Therefore, the lines containing the railings will be not be skew to all lines in the ground.

c Two lines are perpendicular if they intersect each other at a 90^(∘) angle. Ignoring the ever slight curvature of the earth, the ground can be considered a horizontal plane. Also, assuming the house was built correctly, the baluster will be vertical line. Since one plane is horizontal and the other vertical, they will intersect at a 90^(∘) angle and therefore be perpendicular to each other.
