The area of a circle with radius r is calculated using the formula below. A=Ď€ r^2 We know that the area of the circle is 176.7 ft^2. By substituting 176.7 for A in the formula, we can calculate r.
A=Ď€ r^2
176.7=Ď€ r^2
176.7/Ď€ = r^2
r^2 = 176.7/Ď€
sqrt(r^2) = sqrt(176.7/Ď€)
r = ± 7.499690 ⋯
The radius of the circle is a measurement and therefore cannot be negative. Rounded to the nearest tenth, the radius of the circle is approximately 7.5 feet.
