We want to graph the given quadratic function. y=x^2-1

To do so, we will first make a table of values.

x x^2-1 y=x^2-1
0 ( 0)^2-1 - 1
1 ( 1)^2-1 0
2 ( 2)^2-1 3

Note that since the given function has the form y=x^2+c, the axis of symmetry is the vertical line x= 0. Now, let's plot the obtained points and their reflections across the axis of symmetry. Then we can connect them with a parabola.
