Fold your paper so that the endpoints of the segment overlap.
To copy the line segment, we can begin by drawing a starting point and using a straightedge to draw a straight line.
Placing the compass on the point we drew, we can get the same length as the line segment in the book.
The point where the arc from the compass intersects the line is the endpoint.
We find the midpoint by folding the paper so that point F overlaps point E.
When unfolding the paper, the fold intersects the segment at its midpoint.
