According to the Corollary to the Triangle Sum Theorem, the acute angles of a right triangle are complementary. Therefore, to find the measure of ∠ 5, we can write the following equation. 50^(∘)+m∠ 5=90^(∘) By solving the equation for m∠ 5, we can find the measure of ∠ 5.
50^(∘)+m∠ 5=90^(∘)
m∠ 5=40^(∘)
The measure of ∠ 5 is 40^(∘).
