An obtuse isosceles triangle has two congruent sides and one angle greater than 90^(∘). An acute scalene triangle has no congruent sides.

Obtuse isosceles triangle

An obtuse triangle is a triangle where one angle is greater than 90^(∘). Additionally, the triangle has to be isosceles which means two of its sides are congruent. To draw the triangle, we can begin by drawing a horizontal line that's 3 cm using a straightedge.

Next, we will use a protractor to measure an arbitrary obtuse angle. For this triangle we will choose an angle of 120^(∘).

Using a straightedge, we can draw the triangles second side

Finally, we connect the two ends to complete our triangle.

Acute scalene triangle

A scalene triangle is a triangle with no congruent sides. We can start by drawing the base of the triangle.

If you draw the two remaining sides so that they meet in the middle of the base, we would either end up with an isosceles or an equilateral triangle. As long as we stay away from this scenario, we will end up with a scalene triangle.

Finally, we connect the two ends to complete our triangle.
