Equations in standard form are written in a specific format. Ax+ By= CIn this form, A, B, and C are integers, and A and B cannot both be zero. We will use the Properties of Equality to rewrite the given equation in this form.

y-2=-2/5(x-8)

LHS * 5=RHS* 5

5(y-2)=-2(x-8)

Distribute 5 & -2

5y-10=-2x+16

LHS+10=RHS+10

5y=-2 x+26

LHS+2x=RHS+2x

2x+5y=26

Now we can compare this result with the general standard form equation. Ax+ By&= C 2x+ 5y&= 26
