Practice makes perfect
To evaluate the given numeric expression, we need to remember the order of operations. The acronym PEMDAS can help with that!

Let's now consider our expression. 8 ( sqrt(8.41)) + 1.8 We first need to simplify the value of the expression in the parentheses. Within the parentheses, we need to calculate the square root. Because we know that (2.9)^2=8.41, we know that sqrt(8.41)=2.9. 8(sqrt(8.41))+1.8 calculate root ⟶ 8(2.9)+1.8 Now we can finish evaluating our expression. We will first multiply the term inside the parentheses by the 8, and then add 1.8 to the result.
8(2.9)+1.8
23.2+1.8
