Exercise 17 Page 329

( 2/3)^8

Practice makes perfect
We are given a numeric expression, and want to write an equivalent expression. ( 2/3)^2 * ( 2/3)^6 Notice that this expression is the product of two powers with the same base. Therefore, we can start by using the Product of Powers Property. This property states that when multiplying two exponential expressions with the same base, we add the exponents.
( 2/3)^2 * ( 2/3)^6
( 2/3)^(2+6)
( 2/3)^8
Please note we have shown only one of the many possible equivalent expressions.
