Exercise 48 Page 779

An arc is a part of a circle. A minor arc is smaller than a semicircle, and we name it by its endpoints.

Example Solution: QT, RQ, TS, TR, SR

Practice makes perfect
An arc is a part of a circle. A semicircle, which is a type of arc, is half of a circle. A minor arc is smaller than a semicircle and we name it by its endpoints. Considering this definition, we can list all the minor arcs.

Note that, as we have already said, we name a minor arc by its endpoints. Therefore, we can have different names for the same arc. Although the ones mentioned above are all of the minor arcs in the diagram, they may have different names.
