Exercise 43 Page 220

Think of the first set as the x-coordinates and the second set as the y-coordinates.

{ (reduce, plastic), (reuse, plastic), (recycle, plastic)}

Practice makes perfect
We can think of the first set A as the x-coordinates and the second set B as the y-coordinates. The cross product of two sets A and B is written as A* B, where all elements in A are paired with each element in B in ordered pair form (a,b).

A&={ reduce, reuse, recycle} B&={plastic} A* B &={ ( reduce, plastic), & ( reuse, plastic), & ( recycle, plastic)}
