We want to divide a number by a decimal number. The calculations are easier if we multiply the divisor and the dividend by the same power of 10 so that the divisor is a whole number. In this case, we will multiply by 100. 13* 100 &= 1300 0.65* 100 &= 65 This means that 13Ă· 0.65 is the same as 1300Ă· 65. Now we will find the exact quotient. We divide, multiply, subtract, and compare as many times as we need.
Since 1300Ă· 65=20, we know that 13Ă· 0.65=20.
