An equation in point-slope form follows a specific format. y- y_1= m(x- x_1) In this format, m represents the slope and the point ( x_1, y_1) lies on the line. We are given the point ( 7, -5) and the slope - 17, so we have everything we need to create a point-slope form equation.

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

Substitute values

y-( -5)= -1/7(x- 7)

a-(- b)=a+b

y+5=-1/7(x-7)

Please note that any point on the line can be used to form a point-slope equation. Therefore, our equation is only one of infinitely many possible equations!
