Calculate quotient

0.5( 10^(- 4)/10^6 )

a^m/a^n= a^(m-n)

0.5 * 10^(- 4-6)

Subtract term

0.5 * 10^(- 10)

Note that since 0.5 is less than 1, the above number is not written in scientific notation. We can express it in scientific notation by rewriting 0.5 as 5* 10^(- 1).
