Let's start by drawing two arbitrary lines that intersect at a point p_1.

According to the Three Point Postulate, any three points contains a unique plane. Therefore, if we identify a second point on l and a second point on k, we will be able to draw a unique plane through these three points.

Therefore, if two lines intersect, they have to be in the same plane.
