There is already one set of line segments that have been marked as congruent.

With hatch marks

Practice makes perfect
To indicate that two line segments in a diagram are congruent, we use hatch marks. For example, TW and WV are congruent.

To show that PW and QW are congruent we cannot use single hatch marks, as it would imply that these segments are congruent to TW and WV also. Instead, we will use double hatch marks to differentiate their lengths from the two segments that have already been marked.
