5. Proving Triangle Congruence by SSS

To use the Side-Side-Side Congruence Theorem, we have to copy the sides of the triangle.
To copy the triangle using the Side-Side-Side Congruence Theorem, we have to copy the length of each side. Let's start by replicating the base of the triangle, QS. To do that, we will draw a straight line directly underneath â–ł QRS. Make sure it's longer than QS.
Now we want to copy another side. We will do QR. We reset the compass length to match QR and then draw an arc with center T.
To copy the third side, we repeat this procedure but setting the compass length to SR and using U as our center.
Where the arcs intersect is where the third vertex V of our copy should be placed.
