To visualize the exercise, we can draw an example figure. Let it be a square.
We know that the center of dilation is outside the figure, so let's place a point outside the figure and call it C.
The given scale factor is k=120%, which is the same as 1.2. Therefore, the dilated figure will be 1.2 times bigger than the original figure. Keep in mind that both the dilated figure and the original figure will have the same center.
We can see that the original figure is closer to the center than the image after the dilation.
