Draw a random figure to visualize the exercise. Then place a center point inside the figure and draw an image of the figure with the given scale factor.
The dilated figure is closer to the center.
To visualize the exercise, we can draw an example figure.
We know that the center of dilation is inside the figure, so let's place a point inside the figure and call it C.
The given scale factor is k= 12. Therefore, the dilated figure will be 2 times smaller than the original figure. Keep in mind that both the dilated figure and the original figure will have the same center.
We can see that the image after the dilation is closer to the center than the original figure.
