We will determine how many planes contain the given line and point. Our first pair is given below.

  • DB and point A

Let's color the line and the point on the figure to see them clearly.

As you can see, we have one line and one point that does not lie on the line. Therefore, there is exactly one plane that contains the given line and point.

b Our second pair of line and point is the following.
  • BD and point E

Again, we will color the given pair.

As in the Part A, the given point does not lie on the given line. Thus, there is exactly one plane that contains the given pair.

c The next pair is given below.
  • AC and point D

In order to find how many planes containg the given line and pair, let color the given pair again to see them clearly.

As in the previous parts, the point does not lie on the given line, which tells us only one plane contains the given pair.

d Let's examine our last pair in the same way.
  • EB and point C

As a result, there is exactly one pair that contains the given pair.
