To solve an equation, we should first gather all of the variable terms on one side of the equation and all of the constant terms on the other side, using the Properties of Equality. In this case, the variable term is already on the left-hand side of the equation, so we will start by adding 11 to both sides of the equation.
7x-11=3
7x-11+11=3+11
7x=14
7x/7=14/7
x=2
The solution to the equation is x=2.
