If the given equation is a linear equation, it will follow the standard form.

Ax+ By=C In this form, A, B, and C are constants and A and B cannot both be zero. Writing the given equation this way, we see that something is different. 1x+ 1/y=7 The y-term is in a denominator. Because of this, the equation cannot be written in standard form and is not linear.
