Practice makes perfect
We know that we randomly choose one marble from the bag. We want to find the number of ways in which we can choose not blue. We can do so by calculating the number of marbles that are not blue on the diagram!
We can see on the diagram that there are 7 marbles that are not blue. This means that we can choose not blue in 7 ways.
We want to find the favorable outcomes of choosing not blue. We can recall that the outcomes of a specific event, in this case not choosing blue, are called favorable outcomes. We can determine the favorable outcomes using our diagram!
The favorable outcomes include choosing one of the 7 marbles from the bag that are not blue. We can use this information to list the favorable outcomes! Favorable Outcomes green, purple, red , red , red , purple , yellow
