An outcome is a possible result of a probability experiment. For example, when rolling a six-sided die, getting a 3 is one possible outcome.
Note that when performing an experiment, each possible outcome is unique. That means only one outcome will occur for each trial. The set of all the possible outcomes of an experiment is called the sample space.
