To find the gas mileage for the car, we need to divide the distance driven by the amount of gas used. Gas mileage=Distance driven/Gas used Let's use this equation and the fact that we drove 1244.5 miles and used 47.5 gallons of gas.

Gas mileage=26.2
The car's gas mileage is 26.2 miles per the gallon.
