What similarities and differences do parallel lines have?
y=1/3x-2
When lines are parallel they have the same slope. With this, we know that all lines that are parallel to our given line will have a slope of 13.
y=1/3x+10
If we write the desired equation in slope-intercept form, y=mx+b, we can add this slope.
Now that we have the y-intercept, we can write the equation of the line parallel to y= 13+10 that passes through (3,-1). y=1/3x+( -2) ⇔ y=1/3x-2
