What similarities and differences do parallel lines have?
y=3x-6
When lines are parallel they have the same slope. With this, we know that all lines that are parallel to our given line will have a slope of 3.
y=3x-5
If we write the desired equation in slope-intercept form, y=mx+b, we can add this slope.
Now that we have the y-intercept, we can write the equation of the line parallel to y=3x-5 that passes through (2,0). y=3x+( -6) ⇔ y=3x-6
